Mockeryies now haunt Alca, and the encounter system was reworked.
In-game announcements3
My liver feels the earth shifting for new battle runs and these frightful Mockery tongues who yearn to shine... we shall not forbear it! Soulframe Preludes 5 arrives in 3 minutes.
Gah! And these Ode'n Moaners only seem worse... Soulframe Preludes 5 arrives in 2 minutes.
But yes, a sword and shield tipped in eclipse. That will do nicely. Soulframe Preludes 5 arrives in 1 minute.
Beware, a new enemy has emerged! The Mockeries, clad in ancient Babel armour and speaking in twisted tongues, now haunt Alca’s lands. These foes sing their songs of nonsense as they wildly attack. Act quickly to subdue them before their strength grows...
New Encounter System! Daily encounters have seen a rework and the previous system will be replaced. Encounters will have higher stakes, be dynamically spawned throughout Alca, and feature a clearer UI.
- Clear the Camp
- Unsettler: Clear the Sinecure encampment
- Tear Down: Free the region of Sinecure stations
- Stronghold
- Fell the Mighty: Slay the Banneret*
- Sabotage
- Aim for the Eye: Destroy the Ode'n Moaners
- Stolen Breath: Destroy the Ode'n Mistrels
- Siege Besieged: Destroy the Siege Engine
- Patrol Hunt
- Seek or be Sought: Intercept the patrol of Gruulseekers
- Synod's Finest: Slay the Banneret and their patrol
- A new system for acquiring Resonance is in development. For now, Resonance can be temporarily reclaimed throughout the world using spectral sight.
- Caged animals from previous encounters will now spawn randomly throughout Alca. Freeing these animals will grant Envoys with XP.
New weapon! Oryn-Umbr
- Oryn, an Ode’n short sword tipped by an eclipse. Its hollowed blade lightens the Sinecure swing, so it may be wielded by only one hand.
- Umbr, a shield aglow with Ode’n sigil. Skytowers loft are mapped in blue upon its tempered face. Cast in lightweight alloys, Umbr is forged to be thrown as a starnshot blazing.
- Find the Fragments in new encounters.
Ongoing Improvements to Enemy AI
Enemies now exhibit more lifelike qualities with enhanced attacks, new and improved animations, better placement, and clear intent. Battle dogs now feel more "dog-like," reducing their relentlessness in combat and adding a "circling" state. The Ode features a variety of new attacks - be wary! These improvements are part of our continual work on enemy behaviour and logic graph systems.

Unfortunately, the - Ode have tampered with this mechanism, leaving the groves to wither and die...
